HBF Scholarships
Each year HBF awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to students interested in pursuing careers in the home building industry. To date, HBF has awarded over $300,000 to local and statewide students.
Gary E. Milgard Family Foundation Awards
In 2006, Home Building Foundation received funding from the Gary E. Milgard Family Foundation to establish an endowment for a high school scholarship program. Awards are given annually to students in Architecture, Construction and Engineering fields.
Majors include architecture, construction, engineering (civil, electrical, industrial, management), interior design/architecture, or landscape architecture.
Jim Irvine Statewide Scholarship
The Jim Irvine Statewide Scholarships are awarded annually to Oregon residents attending a two or four year program in the State of Oregon who are seeking a career in the home building industry.
Majors include architecture, construction, engineering (civil, electrical, industrial, management), interior design/architecture, and landscape architecture.
Oregon Student Aid - How to Apply
The OSAC Scholarship Applications provides current and future Oregon students one easy application to apply for multiple scholarships at one time. HBF scholarships can be accessed through the OSAC Student Portal. Details and criteria for the Home Building Foundation Scholarships can be found in the OSAC Scholarship Catalog.
OSAC applications open November 1 each year. Be sure to submit your FAFSA or ORSAA when it opens in December.
Building a Future Workforce
Home Building Foundation has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to students working towards a career in the construction industry. In addition, HBF works with local pre-apprenticeship construction programs, high school construction programs, and other groups to provide hands-on training opportunities to build skills, gain experience, and connect trainees with our shelter development work in the community.
